Robert Williams, Senior Investment Adviser

Robert’s role is to provide bespoke financial planning advice to expatriates in Japan and their subsequent locations. He has 27 years of experience in the financial planning industry and holds professional qualifications with the Chartered Institute of Insurance in the UK.

Career background

Robert began his career with Lloyds Bank in the UK before an assignment to the Standard Bank of South Africa then moving to Friends Provident and General Accident before relocating to Japan in 1999 to continue his career in financial planning.


Robert’s main hobby is cycling and is the Chair & Co-Founder of the fundraising sports & leisure group, the Knights in White Lycra (KIWL). For his community contributions, he was presented the 'Person of the Year' award in 2015 by the British Chamber of Commerce. He was also recognized in 2018 by the Japan British Society for his contributions to Japanese-British cultural relations. He also runs 'Brits at Lunch', a monthly lunch club for British expatriates in Tokyo. He is married with two boys.
